Silky, sweet and gently creamy — Milk Oolong is one of the tea world's little miracles. Ours comes from Fujian, China, and contains nothing but tea: no flavourings, no additives of any kind. The famous milky character — a smooth, buttery texture and soft notes of cream and orchid — comes entirely from the leaf itself.
The tightly rolled leaves unfurl slowly, releasing a pale golden cup with a fragrance somewhere between fresh flowers and warm custard. It is the oolong we hand to people who think they do not like tea — and the one they come back for.
Brew one heaping teaspoon per cup with water around 85 to 90°C for 3 minutes, and re-steep the same leaves two or three times; each infusion reveals a new layer. Best enjoyed plain.
