Genmaicha

High grade Sencha leaves are embellished with toasted rice and puffed corn to create this popular and versatile blend. Genmaicha is Japan's great comfort tea: the fresh green character of sencha wrapped in the warm, nutty aroma of roasted rice.

Beloved worldwide for its toasty, almost popcorn-like flavour and gentle, soothing body, it is also lower in caffeine per cup than most greens — the toasted rice takes the place of some leaf — so it suits any hour of the day.

Brew one heaping teaspoon per cup with water around 80°C for 2 to 3 minutes. Wonderful with meals — it is a natural partner to rice dishes, sushi and savoury food of every kind.
