A blend of OP black teas from India and Sri Lanka together with a hint of China black Lapsang Souchong. Russian Caravan takes its name from the camel caravans that carried tea from China to Russia — and the story that months of campfire smoke on the trail gently seasoned the chests of leaf.
This blend recreates that legend: rich, malty black tea with a subtle thread of pine smoke running underneath. The Lapsang is a seasoning here, not the main event, making this the perfect introduction to smoked teas.
Brew one heaping teaspoon per cup with freshly boiled water for 3 to 5 minutes. Excellent plain or with milk, ideally beside a samovar — or at least a good book.
